What is P-16?

Twenty sites in Ohio have been established to focus on P-16 in order to ease the transition along the educational continuum to enable learner success. 

Each site in Ohio brings together regional leaders to encourage collaboration among stakeholders to minimize duplication of services and to enhance skills that will make ready learners at transition points along the educational continuum from birth through graduate school. The consensus is that this will provide a ready workforce and enhance economic success.

Transition points tend to be as follows:

• Early childhood (birth to kindergarten)
• Prepared for completion of elementary school and middle school
• Prepared for completion of High School to enter college or the workforce
• Prepared for completion of post – secondary (16 or 20)
• Prepared for the workforce
